Diplomats Compete at Susquehanna Invitational

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – A trio of Franklin & Marshall women's golfers competed at the Susquehanna Invitational on Sunday afternoon at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club.

Kathleen Smith paced the Diplomats at the Par-72, 5,803-yard course, carding a 92 to place fourth out of 13 golfers. Smith was just two strokes off the leader, Stephanie Heiring of Dickinson who took the individual title with a 90 on the day. 

Harriet Waldron shot a 119 to finish 11th and Megan Whittier rounded out F&M's competitors with a 134. 

The Diplomats did not meet the minimum of four players required to record a finish in the team standings, along with Muhlenberg and Susquehanna. Dickinson was the only team to place, totaling a 398 for the tournament. 

F&M is set to return to action on Saturday for day one of the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships. The Diplomats are the host school for the event, which will take place at Foxchase Golf Club in Stevens.
