Smith in Fifth After Day One

STEVENS, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Kathleen Smith sits in fifth place out of 29 competitors to lead Franklin & Marshall's women's golf team after day one of the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships at Foxchase Golf Club. 

Smith carded an 89 through 18 holes at the par-72, 5,801-yard course. She trails Gettysburg's Sarah Hansen by seven strokes, who leads the field with an 82. Muhlenberg's Aine Filler is in second (84), followed by defending champion Samantha Sessa of Gettysburg in third (85). 

Megan Whitter is tied for 22nd after shooting a 101 in round one while Harriet Waldron rounded out the Diplomats' scoring with a 122. 

F&M did not meet the minimum of four players required to record a finish in the team standings. Gettysburg totaled a 357 to place first after day one, followed by Ursinus (368) and McDaniel (372).
