Smith Ties For Fifth; Earns All-CC Nod

STEVENS, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Kathleen Smith carded an 86 in round two of the Centennial Conference (CC) Women's Golf Championships on Sunday afternoon at Foxchase Golf Club to secure a tie for fifth place in the field of 29 competitors and her second career All-CC honor.

She shaved three strokes off of her day-one score, giving her a total of 175 (89-86) at the par-72, 5,801-yard course. Smith became just the fourth women's golfer in program history to earn multiple All-CC honors after finishing second a year ago.

Megan Whittier placed 25th with a 206 total (101-105) while Harriet Waldron carded a 238 (122-116) to round out the Diplomats' scorers.

Gettysburg's Sarah Hansen took home the individual title with a 162 (82-80), followed by Muhlenberg's Aine Filler in second (84-81) and Gettysburg's Samantha Sessa in third (85-81). McDaniel's Janine Borelli was fourth after recording a tournament-low 76 in the second day of action to finish with a 167 total.

F&M did not meet the minimum of four players required to record a finish in the team standings. Gettysburg captured the team title with a 691 (357-334), followed by McDaniel with a 724 (372-352) and Ursinus with a 732 (368-380).
