Diplomats Named Winner at Susquehanna Women's Golf Invitational

April 14, 2006

SELINSGROVE, PA - Franklin & Marshall shot a score of 296 to win the lightning-shortened Susquehanna University Invitational.

The round, which does not officially count per United States Golf Association Rule 33-2-d, was shortened after 12 holes due to lightning in the area as the Diplomats were named tournament champions for having the lowest score over 12 completed holes.

For F&M, Elissa Boyer (So., Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) shot 63 to earn medalist honors, while Erin O'Hara (So., Wilton, CT/Wilton), Christine DiMattia (Fr., Garden City, NY/Garden City) and Carolyn Devens (Fr., Sewickley, PA) carded 77, 74 and 82, respectively, to round out the Diplomats players as the Diplomats edged Susquehanna and Hollins College.

Franklin & Marshall College will continue the season on April 18 at the Ursinus College Invitational hosted at Rivercrest Golf Club. Start time is set for 1:00 p.m.
