Four Diplomats Earn All-CC Honors
LANCASTER, Pa. – Four members of Franklin & Marshall's women's lacrosse team were named to the 2012 All-Centennial Conference (CC) team when it was released on Tuesday. Libby Nichols was a First Team selection, Mary Mitchell and Anne Brockmeyer landed on the Second Team and Caroline Krohn earned Honorable Mention.
Nichols (Eillicott City, Md./McDonogh) is making her way onto the All-CC Team for the first time in her career. The sophomore gathered a team-high 37 ground balls, caused 23 turnovers and won six draws. She helped anchor the F&M defense that had the second lowest goals per game in the CC with 8.68 allowed per game.
Mitchell (Wilbraham, Mass./Suffield Academy), a sophomore, tallied 22 goals and assisted on 10 more to pick up her first postseason award. She had a .718 shot on goal percentage, came away with 27 draws and collected 20 ground balls for F&M this season.
Brockmeyer (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) was the other driving force for F&M's defense. The senior had 20 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers in nine games this season.
Krohn (Baltimore, Md./Towson) ranked fourth on team with 24 goals and handed out 15 assists this season. The sophomore had a .828 shot on goal percentage, 22 draw controls and 11 ground balls to earn her first CC postseason award.
