LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall women's lacrosse returns to the national stage for the 11th time in 12 seasons after being selected to the NCAA Tournament on Sunday night. The Diplomats begin their 19th NCAA campaign next Sunday, hosting Cabrini in the second round (round of 32).
F&M earned the right to chase the program's third national title by winning the Centennial Conference with a dramatic 7-6 overtime win over Gettysburg, earning the CC's automatic bid in the process.
Since 2006, the Diplomats are 29-15 in NCAA Tournament games including a sparkling record of 17-1 in home games during that time.
Eight first-round games will be played on Saturday, May 13 with the winners advancing to the second round the following day. The sixteen winners from Sunday's second-round games will advance to one of four regional sites for Sweet 16 and Elite Eight action on Saturday, May 20 and Sunday, May 21. The Final Four will be contested the following weekend, May 27-28 at Kerr Field in Salem, Va.
