Eagles Defeat Diplomats
LANCASTER, Pa. - Eastern defeated Franklin & Marshall 2-0 in non-conference women's soccer action Wednesday night at Tylus Field. The Eagles (3-3) fired off 19 shots while their defense limited the Diplomats (2-6) to two shots on goal.
Jillian DiRenzo put the Eagles on the board with her ninth goal of the year. DiRenzo took a Charolette Laurie pass through the middle for the one-timer in 25th minute. Eastern scored again late in the second period when F&M's Katie Golding misplayed the ball at the top of the box and Kristine Zeiset tapped it through to the back of the net, putting Eastern up 2-0.
Eastern took five corner kicks, while holding the Diplomats to one.
The Eagles Whitney McCloud picks up her second win of the year, improving to 2-1. F&M's Golding takes the loss, stopping five shots, falling to 2-6.
Franklin & Marshall returns action September 26th when they host Washington College. Game time is set for 1:00 pm.
