LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Gabby Panayotakis was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Defensive Player of the Week for women's soccer, announced by the league office on Monday.
The honor is the first of Panayotakis' career and the first distinction this year for a member of the Diplomats.
F&M's freshman goalkeeper was dominant in net last week, tallying back-to-back shutouts and leading the Diplomats to a 1-0-1 record that included a 2-0 victory over Lancaster Bible on Tuesday and a 0-0 2OT tie against Muhlenberg on Saturday.
Panayotakis notched six saves on the week, including four in 110 minutes of action against the Mules. She now has four shutouts on the year, a mark that places her second in the Conference.
CC competition picks back up on Wednesday when F&M travels to face Dickinson at 7:00 p.m.
