Bill Esterly

Bill Esterly became the College's ninth Head Coach of Women's Soccer in June of 2010. He brings a deep resume of successful coaching experience from a broad array of age groups and organizations to F&M. Prior to taking over the women's team, Esterly had served as a volunteer coach with the men's program.

Esterly has collegiate experience on both the women's and men's sides. He assisted the Gettysburg women in 2005 when the Bullets captured the ECAC South Region Championship. That followed a six-year stint as a men's assistant at Millersville University. At both institutions, Esterly was charged with scouting opponents and recruiting.

After a year at Gettysburg, Esterly joined the men's staff at York College, spending four seasons on the sidelines in one of NCAA Division III's top programs. The Spartans complied a record of 60-3-6 and made three NCAA tournament appearances, including two trips to the quarterfinals, with Esterly on the staff.

Since April 2008, Esterly has served as the Technical Director of LANCO United. In that capacity, he directs a staff of 22 coaches developing youth soccer players for opportunities to compete in the collegiate and professional ranks. Esterly is tasked with developing and implementing a progressive, long-term training philosophy, as well as managing all aspects of the organization's financial activities.

A 1993 graduate of Alfred University, Esterly was a four-year letterwinner for the Saxons. His playing days did not end with graduation. Esterly played two years of club soccer with Hermes A.C. in Astoria, N.Y., and a pair of stints with the Lancaster Spartans. His coaching credentials include a USSF National "B" License and an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma.
