McDaniel Sweeps Diplomats

LANCASTER, Pa. – McDaniel tacked on three runs to it's six-run lead and Franklin & Marshall could only score one as the Green Terror secured the game two victory 17-9 Friday afternoon. Game two of the Centennial Conference (CC) double header was halted Thursday 14-8 in McDaniel's favor due to darkness, and resumed Friday to play out the final innings. McDaniel improved to 15-21, 5-9 CC as the Green Terror swept the series, and the Diplomats fell to 9-17, 2-12 CC.

The game resumed in the top of the fifth with McDaniel up to bat and two runners on base, but the Green Terror did not put any runs on the board. In the bottom of the fifth, Danielle Murphy started things off with a single to right field. Murphy then advanced on a passed ball and was sent home by Liz Chudzik who singled to center field. Murphy's run was the Diplomats' lone score of the day.

The Green Terror added one run in the sixth and two in the seventh while holding F&M scoreless to seal the victory.

Kaitlyn Vadenias earned the win, fanning three batters and allowing seven hits.

Karalynne Clark was saddled with the loss. She allowed nine hits and walked three batters.

The Diplomats wrap up the 2010 season on the road with a conference double header at Dickinson on Saturday, April 24. The first game is slated for 1 p.m.
