LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's No. 14 women's squash team fell by a hard-fought 5-4 score against Virginia on Sunday afternoon at Mayser Gym. 

The Diplomats dropped to 1-2 with the loss while the Cavaliers remained unbeaten at 3-0. 

By the Numbers 

Only three matchups on the day were decided in three games with Virginia holding the 2-1 edge in sweeps. The Diplomats were strong at the top of the ladder with Fiona Murphy (No. 1) and Sherilyn Yang (No. 2) both winning their contests in four games. 

Freshman Katherine Galambos improved to 2-1 in her freshman season after taking down her opponent in five games, while Ellen Verry earned a shutout at No. 6. 

The meeting was just the third in series history between these two squads and now sits at 2-1 in favor of F&M.
