F&M Third Heading Into Sunday
LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall is in third place on the women's side following session two of the F&M Invitational on Saturday evening at McGinness Pool. The Diplomats have a total of 367.5 points and trail only California (Pa.) (618) and Washington & Lee (432.5) entering Sunday's final session. Kutztown (315.5) and St. Mary's (Md.) (315) round out the top five.
Krista Hollingsworth posted the top finish of session two for the Diplomats, capturing third place in the 200 freestyle with a mark of 1:58.21. Three other F&M swimmers also notched points in the event, with Olivia Hill taking sixth (1:59.02), followed by Rebecca Daen in seventh (1:59.07) and Garland Bartlett in 11th (2:01.65).
Hollingsworth and Hill later joined forces with Maggie Johns and Katherine Grant to grab third in the 800 freestyle relay. The quartet touched in 8:03.56.
Caitlyn Fuller had a busy evening session for F&M, earning points in two individual events and the 200 medley relay. Fuller, along with Katherine DeCrosta, Jackie Behr and Daen, nabbed sixth in the medley relay, while Fuller also added an 11th-place finish in the 400 IM (4:50.01) and placed 12th in the 100 backstroke (1:03.13).
Johns was the top F&M finisher in the 400 IM, taking ninth place in 4:49.05, while DeCrosta also garnered individual points for the Diplomats with a ninth-place showing in the 100 breastroke (1:10.03).
F&M wraps up its annual invitational with session three set to begin at 10:00 am on Sunday at McGinness Pool.
