Diplomats Fall to Second
GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall added a pair of bronze medals and fell to second place after Saturday's competitions at the Centennial Conference Championship. The Diplomats (406) trail Gettysburg (421.5) heading into the final day of swimming.
Maggie Johns earned a bronze in the 400 IM with a 4:43.38, while teammates Christine Werner (4:50.24, 6th) and Caitlyn Fuller (4:52.94, 7th) placed in the top eight. Lauren Siegel finished 13th with a time of 4:58.63. F&M's second bronze came in the 100 breaststroke as Katherine DeCrosta swam to a 1:08.69 and Werner finished seventh at 1:10.10. Becca Citti touched at 1:11.83 for a 13th place finish.
Krista Hollingsworth (1:57.00) and Katie Grant (1:59.51) placed in the top eight in the 200 free taking fourth and eighth. Daen took 10th at 1:59.24 and Garland Bartlett finished 16th with a time of 2:01.91. Behr took 11th in the 100 butterfly at 1:01.57.
Fuller placed in the top eight in the 100 backstroke taking seventh at 1:02.73, while Christiansen came in 13th swimming to a 1:03.90.
Grant, Johns, DeCrosta, and Hollingsworth teamed up in the 800 free relay to take fifth with a time of 7:57.69 and the team of Olivia Hill, Ana Franzluebbers, Alexia Tomlinson, and Bartlett took 11th at 8:07.12.
Ursinus (374), Swarthmore (358), and Dickinson (333) round out the top five in the team race.
Swimming resumes Sunday at 10 a.m.
