LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall fell to Ursinus on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 175.5-86.5 decision to the Bears in Centennial Conference (CC) women's swimming. The Diplomats fell to 3-5, 3-2 CC with the defeat.
-Caroline Fry recorded the first of two individual victories for F&M in the 1,000-yard freestyle, finishing in 11:01.07 to take first place in the event for the second time in two days. Rebecca McCain followed close behind, taking third in 11:19.25.
-Erin Fago struck gold for the Diplomats as well, storming to a first-place showing in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.70.
Other Notable Performances
-Fry continued to make waves in the distance events, taking second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:24.92. Grace Pereles was next to finish, taking third with a time of 5:32.25.
-Anna Hess logged a pair of second-place finishes in the backstroke events, beginning in the 100-yard backstroke where she marked a time of 1:02.07. She again finished second in the 200-yard edition, touching the wall in 2:14.85.
-Melissa Mullin notched her third second-place finish in two days in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking a time of 1:10.61.
-Katherine Hirsch capped off a strong weekend in the 100-yard freestyle, racing to second place in 56.15.
The Diplomats return to the pool on Saturday, once again hitting the road to take on Dickinson in Carlisle at 1:00 p.m.
