F&M Holds Sixth Place After Two Sessions

LANCASTER, Pa. - Four Franklin and Marshall women's swimmers participated in A finals as the Diplomats collected 112 points to take sixth at the end of Day One at the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships. Ursinus is in first after two sessions with 229 points.

Grace Pereles and Caroline Fry carried over their momentum from this morning's qualifiers and collected 27 points for F&M in the 500-yard freestyle. Pereles finished fifth in 5:09.08, earning 14 points, while Fry tallied 13 points after taking sixth in 5:10.74.

Erin Fago represented the Diplomats in the 50-yard freestyle, charging to 13 points and a sixth-place finish with a time of 24.88.

Melissa Mullin added another 12 points for F&M in the 200-yard IM, finishing seventh with a time of 2:12.41. Anna Hess took second in the B final to finish 10th overall (2:13.43), while Katherine Hirsch finished 12th in 2:14.51.

Fago and Hirsch joined Colleen Lawlor and Anelise Browne in the 200-yard freestyle relay, together clocking a time of 1:39.92 to take sixth. Samantha Hershey, Jillian Albus, Rebecca McCain, and Diane Wagner recorded a time of 1:41.63 in the B final to take 12th overall.

The Diplomats return to action tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. for prelims of the 400-yard IM, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, and 100-yard backstroke.
