LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's C.J. Rummelsburg was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Player of the Week for women's tennis, announced by the league office on Monday. The honor was the second of Rummelsburg's career and the first for a member of the Diplomats this season.
Rummelsburg (Fairfield, Conn. / Greens Farms Academy) put together a perfect 4-0 record through two matches during F&M's Florida Spring Break trip. Competing at the No. 4 singles position, Rummelsburg earned a pair of 2-0 sweeps after taking down opponents from Macalester by a 6-3, 6-1 score on Tuesday and Colby-Sawyer by a 6-0, 6-2 tally on Wednesday.
In doubles action, Rummelsburg teamed with Sarah Haas at No. 2 for a pair of dominant wins, outscoring their opponents by a 16-3 margin.
The Diplomats strung together a 3-0 record down in Florida and returned to Lancaster with a 4-2 overall mark. F&M's Centennial Conference (CC) and home opener is set for this Saturday against Ursinus at 1:00 p.m.
