LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Allison Wolters was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Player of the Week for women's tennis, announced by the league office on Monday. The honor was the first of Wolters' career and the second straight week for a member of the Diplomats.
Wolters (Belle Mead, N.J. / Laurel Springs School) was particularly dominant in F&M's 9-0 shutout on Saturday that opened Centennial play against Ursinus. The sophomore No. 1 produced a 6-1, 6-1 straight-set result in singles and teamed with Nicole Russo at No. 1 doubles for an 8-0 blanking. The duo is ranked No. 7 in the region and No. 25 in the nation.
A winner of five consecutive singles matches, Wolters holds an impressive 7-3 overall record at No. 1.
F&M continues CC competition on Wednesday, traveling to McDaniel for a 3:30 p.m. match.
