Diplomats Fall Short to Fords

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's women's tennis team dropped its first Centennial Conference (CC) competition of the season, falling to Haverford by a 7-2 score on Saturday at the Hempfield Rec Center.

The Diplomats, who are ranked No. 15 in the Atlantic South Region, now sit at 5-4, 3-1 CC on the year while the Fords, who are ranked No. 13 in the region, improved to 8-1, 4-0 CC. 

By the Numbers

Haverford put F&M in a 2-1 hole following doubles action. The Diplomats' lone win came from the No. 1 duo of Allison Wolters and Sarah Haas by an 8-4 tally, who downed the region's No. 13 ranked doubles' team of Jane Bary and Emily Shutman.

Wolters secured the team's singles victory as well with a straight-set win at No. 1. Four of the Fords' five singles victories occurred in straight sets.
