LANCASTER, Pa. – On Friday, Franklin & Marshall will head to Johns Hopkins for day one of three at the Centennial Conference (CC) Women's Track and Field Championships. Competition is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, followed by an 8:45 a.m. start on Saturday and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.

The Diplomats are aiming to better last year's eighth-place finish. F&M finished the meet with 45 total points a season ago, while Johns Hopkins took the team title with 219.75 points.

F&M enters the weekend with the Conference's best time in the 4x100-meter relay, as the team of Kaitlin Muccio, Rachel Wylie, Aleksandra Kiszka, and Sabrina Piccinini combined for a time of 49.87 at the Little Three Meet on March 25.

After collecting four medals in the jumps over the past two years, Alyssa Ward looks for her first gold in 2017. The junior is the favorite in the triple jump, as her distance of 11.50 meters (37'-8.75") is the Conference's best this season. In the high jump, she is seeded second with a height of 1.60 meters (5'-3"), while in the long jump, her distance of 5.07 meters (16'-7.75") is good for the ninth seed.

Wylie will also go for individual gold at her first Centennial Championships, entering the 400-meter hurdles as the top seed with a time of 1:04.05. Kiszka is seeded 10th at 1:08.72, while Muccio is the 11th seed with a time of 1:09.14.

Wylie and Kiszka will also compete in the 100-meter hurdles. Wylie comes in with the conference's third-best time this year at 15.64, while Kiszka's time of 16.64 is tied for ninth-best in the CC.

Muccio leads the way for F&M in the 400, seeded second with a time of 1:00.34.

Abby Grehlinger paces the Diplomats in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, entering with a time of 12:39.75 for the 10th seed.

Jasmin Wright leads the throwers, seeded ninth in the javelin with a distance of 32.19 meters (105'-7"). Ruvarashe Chimusoro's distance of 10.72 meters (35'-2") is the CC's 10th-best mark in the shot put, and Najee Mendes comes in with the Centennial's 11th-best distance in the hammer throw (30.31 meters, 99'-5"), which will be contested at the CC Championships for the first time this season.
