Diplomats 1-1 on Second Day at Rhodes Tournament
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Franklin & Marshall volleyball team wrapped up the Rhodes Tournament with another two game split Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats earned a win in four sets over Rhodes (12-25, 25-23, 25-15, 25-23) and fell to Millsaps in five sets (26-24, 25-15, 20-25, 21-25, 11-15). F&M returns home from Memphis with a record of 4-4.
Sophomore Kerry Rom turned in a good performance against
Rhodes with 13 kills and 13 digs. Teammate Pam Horner provided 40
assists and 11 digs while Katy May added 11 digs and three service
aces. Sydney Seydel also recorded 11 kills, three digs, and three
blocks.
F&M won the first two sets against Millsaps before
dropping the next three. Candice Tussing posted 16 kills, 14
digs, and two aces. Horner ended her night with 45 assists, 17
digs, and five kills. Rom recorded 22 digs, nine kills, and two
blocks. Seydel contributed 12 kills and four blocks.
The Diplomats have a small break before returning to the court
Friday, September 17 at 6:30 PM against St. Mary's.
