Diplomats Down Garnet
LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's volleyball team continued its winning streak with a 3-0 defeat over Swarthmore in Centennial Conference (CC) action. The Diplomats have won four straight without dropping a set. The win secures the third seed in the CC playoffs for the Diplomats (20-6, 8-2 CC) with a rematch against Johns Hopkins on Saturday.
All three games were decided with six points or less. F&M took the first 25-19, before Swarthmore gave them a run. The second set went back and forth before the Diplomats pulled away with a 26-25 set win. F&M took the final 25-19 for the match win.
Pam Horner led the way offensively with 35 assists while Caitlin Krustick picked up two service aces for F&M. Defensively, Nicole Morano tallied 12 kills and Kerry Rom picked up nine. Katy May, Lis Power and Candice Tussing each compiled ten digs.
The CC field is set with Haverford and Johns Hopkins taking the top two spots while Swarthmore and Gettysburg took the last two spots. Haverford will host the last two rounds on Saturday and Sunday, game time to be determined.
