Diplomats Rally, But Fall to Millersville

MILLERSVILLE, Pa.—Franklin & Marshall overcame a 2-0 deficit to force a fifth and deciding set.  However, the comeback fell short, as the Diplomats dropped a heartbreaker to Millersville in non-conference volleyball action Tuesday night.

The Marauders won the opening two sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-19.  F&M (2-7) took the third set 25-15, and then fought off match point, and rallied to take the fourth set 26-24.  In the fifth set, Millersville jumped out to an early lead and never looked back en route to a 15-8 victory to clinch the match.

Kerry Rom and Heather Letzkus paced the attack for the Diplomats, combining for 27 of the Diplomats 51 kills in the match.  Defensively, Lis Power led the way with 18 digs.

F&M returns to the court tomorrow night, when the Diplomats host McDaniel in their home and Centennial Conference opener.  The match begins at 7 p.m.
