Diplomats’ Streak Continues

LANCASTER, Pa.—Franklin & Marshall recorded its fifth straight win Friday night in the annual F&M Scramble, defeating Ithaca College 3-0 in straight sets.  With the win, the Diplomats improve to 7-7, while the Bombers drop to 8-9.

The opening set went back and forth before F&M pulled away to record a 25-18 victory.  The next two sets played out in a similar fashion, with the Diplomats notching 25-17 victories in both sets.

Julie Harvey paced the Diplomat offense once again, tallying 13 kills and a .400 hitting percentage.  Sydney Seydel added nine kills, and had a .261 hitting percentage.  Kerry Rom and Katy May turned in solid defensive performances, with 12 kills apiece.

In the other match this evening, Marywood defeated Frostburg St., 22-25, 11-25, 25-19, 25-18, 20-18.

The tournament will conclude tomorrow, with F&M taking on Marywood at 11 a.m., and Frostburg St. at 1:30 p.m.   The other matches will feature Frostburg against Ithaca at 11 a.m., and Marywood against Ithaca at 1:30 p.m.
