LANCASTER, Pa.—Franklin & Marshall middle hitter Sydney Seydel was named Centennial Conference (CC) Player of the Week, announced Tuesday. This is the first CC weekly honor for Seydel, and the second for the Diplomats this season. Julie Harvey earned POTW honors for the week ending October 2.
Seydel led the Diplomats to a 3-0 week, with victories over Elizabethtown, Gettysburg, and Dickinson. She tallied a .536 hitting percentage, and tallied 40 kills with only three errors on 69 attempts. Against the Blue Jays, Seydel recorded 24 kills without an error in 38 attempts, for a hitting percentage of .632, and followed it up with another errorless performance against the Bullets, adding eight kills. She also notched six service aces, five blocks, and five digs.
F&M enters the CC Tournament as the second seed, and will face third-seeded Gettysburg in a semifinal match on Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Johns Hopkins.
