Harvey Named CC Co-Player of the Year

LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall freshman Julie Harvey has been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Volleyball Co-Player of the Year, along with Bryn Mawr senior Katie Merrill, the league office announced on Tuesday. Harvey becomes the first-ever freshman and fifth Diplomat to receive the honor.

Harvey led the Diplomats in hitting percentage (.340), kills (358) and blocks (56) and finished tops in the CC in hitting percentage, second in both kills and points (4.11 per game) and 10th in blocks. Harvey was one of two freshman named to the first team, with Johns Hopkins' Meagan Donohoe also garnering the honor. Harvey and Donohoe become just the eighth and ninth freshman to receive first team recognition.

In addition to Harvey nabbing player of the year and first team honors, a pair of Diplomats, senior Katy May and freshman Caroline Hubbard, earned honorable mention accolades. May paced F&M in both digs (407) and service aces (54) and ranked third in the CC in aces and fourth in digs. She finishes her career tied for seventh in career aces (175) at F&M and 14th in career digs (1,089). Hubbard ended the year with the second-highest assist total (698) in the CC.

The Diplomats saw their season come to a close with an 18-11 record after a 3-2 loss to Gettysburg in last Friday's CC semifinals.
