LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin and Marshall's Julie Harvey has been named Centennial Conference (CC) Volleyball Player of the Week, announced Tuesday. The honor is the second in Harvey's career, the first coming in her freshman season (10/2) last fall.
Harvey, a sophomore middle hitter, led the Diplomats to a 3-0 record in their opening weekend, including wins against Lancaster Bible, Elizabethtown and Penn State-Berks.
Over the course of three matches, Harvey registered 33 kills in eight sets (4.12) with a .455 hitting percentage. On Friday she tallied eight kills on 11 swings with no errors in two games against Lancaster Bible, and recorded 18 kills in the three-set sweep of Penn State-Berks on Saturday.
F&M will return to action tomorrow with a road match at local rival York at 7:00 p.m. The Diplomats then travel to Cleveland this weekend for a tournament at Case Western Reserve.
