Tussing Named CC Player of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall outside hitter Candice Tussing was named Centennial Conference (CC) Volleyball Player of the Week, announced Monday.  This is the first CC weekly honor for Tussing and the second of the season for the Diplomats.  Julie Harvey earned POTW honors for the week ending Sept. 2.

Tussing guided F&M to a 2-0 week that included CC wins against Gettysburg on Wednesday and Dickinson on Saturday.  She recorded 13 kills and 16 digs in a 3-2 win over Gettysburg.  Against Dickinson, Tussing posted 11 kills with a .400 kill percentage in a 3-0 sweep of the Red Devils.

For the week, Tussing averaged 3.0 kills per set as the Diplomats clinched the top seed for this week's CC tournament.  F&M returns to the court Saturday at 12:00 p.m. to face off against the winner of Wednesday's first-round contest between fourth-seeded Haverford and fifth-seeded Gettysburg.
