LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall volleyball team remained perfect in Centennial Conference (CC) play, sweeping Swarthmore 3-0 on Wednesday evening at the Mayser Center. The Diplomats moved to 18-4, 6-0 CC on the season, maintaining their lead atop the conference. The Garnet fell to 11-9, 1-5 CC on the year.

Holding onto a 20-15 lead late in the first, five-straight F&M points capped off by an Ellie Ezekiel kill put the Diplomats up 1-0.  Swarthmore struggled offensively in the opening frame, hitting a mere .025 and committing seven errors.

F&M recorded 14 kills in the set while hitting at a .200 clip.

In the second, the set was knotted at 8-8 before a 10-2 Diplomat run made the score 18-10 in favor of F&M. Swarthmore never managed to pull any closer than seven points throughout the remainder of the frame as the Diplomats rolled to a 25-18 victory.

Up 2-0, F&M fell behind early at 10-7 until three-straight points tied the set at 10-10. Later in the frame and with the score tied at 12-12, Sarah Landry stepped behind the line and fired an ace to give the Diplomats the lead, sparking a 12-3 run that closed the door on the Garnet.

Ezekiel led the offense with 15 kills and a .333 hitting percentage. Caroline Hubbard assisted on 37 points while also collecting nine digs and a pair of service aces.

Alyssa Sanchez paced the defense with 14 digs while Ezekiel (11) and Parys Zambas (11) also reached double-digits.
