LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Julie Harvey was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA Mid-Atlantic Region First Team, assuring her All-America consideration. The honor is the second of Harvey's career, having earned the same distinction after her freshman campaign.
Earlier in the week, Harvey garnered the Centennial Conference (CC) Player of the Year award for the second time in her career, becoming only the third player in CC history to capture the honor twice and the first F&M player to do so.
The junior middle hitter was second in the conference in hitting percentage (.358) and first in total blocks (104). Her 1.07 blocks per set average also ranked first, while her 3.31 kills per set was good for seventh.
Harvey led the Diplomats to a 24-6 record on the year that included a 10-0 mark in conference play. The Diplomats captured the CC Regular Season Title for the second-consecutive year before dropping a heartbreaking 3-1 match to Johns Hopkins in the semifinals.
