Series History: F&M continues Centennial Conference (CC) play against McDaniel on Wednesday before heading to Ashland, Va. on Saturday for a non-conference trimatch with Washington & Lee and the host school, Randolph Macon.
Against the Green Terror, the Diplomats trail in the all-time series at 32-25, however F&M has won six straight matches, including a 3-0 sweep last season.
On Saturday at the trimatch, the Diplomats will first battle the Generals, a team that holds a 1-0 mark against F&M. In the following match, the Diplomats take on the Yellow Jackets, who hold a 3-0 mark against F&M.
Last Week: The Diplomats battled but were edged out by Johns Hopkins 3-2 last Wednesday.
Down 2-0 in match, F&M fought back to tie it at 2-2 but the Blue Jays took the third set at 15-12 and the match 3-2.
Alyssa Sanchez tallied 28 digs, the second-most in a five-set match for one player in Diplomat history. Meghan Godorov had 51 digs against Elizabethtown on Sept. 1, 2004.
As a team, F&M recorded 93 digs, which tied the most ever for a Diplomat squad in a five-setter. Back on Aug. 21, 2012, the Diplomats finished with 93 digs against Lancaster Bible.
Hubbard Continues to Climb: With 3,125 career assists, the senior setter is 309 helpers away from passing Jamie Cardman (1994-97) for third on F&M's all-time list. In the CC, Hubbard sits in second with 9.07 assists per set, while Washington's Taylor Horan is first at 9.57.
Block Party: Harvey has amassed 264 total blocks in her career, good for third on F&M's list. Nicole Morano (2007-10) is second with 297 behind program leader Stacy Dunchick's (1996-99) 369.
