Fall Sports Prepared for CC Playoffs

LANCASTER, Pa. – Three of Franklin & Marshall's postseason eligible fall teams are set to compete in this week's Centennial Conference (CC) playoffs. Men's soccer won the CC regular season for the first time since 2007 and will host this weekend's semifinal and final rounds in Lancaster.

Field hockey will travel to Ursinus to take on Muhlenberg as the No. 2 seed on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the semifinals, while volleyball will head to Johns Hopkins on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. to take part in the first round game as the No. 5 seed.

Men's Soccer CC Championship Site 

The Diplomats return to postseason action for the second straight season after capturing their first conference championship in 2013. The road to this year's title will run through Lancaster for the first time in seven years as F&M secured the regular-season crown and the No. 1 seed following a spectacular 15-0-2, 8-0-1 CC unbeaten record in the regular season. 

The CC Champion will earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament, which begins its first and second rounds on Nov. 15-16. The Sweet 16 and quarterfinal rounds take place Nov. 22-23, with the Final Four and NCAA Final slated for Dec. 5-6 in Kansas City, Mo. First Round – No. 4 Haverford vs. No. 5 Johns Hopkins – 2:00 p.m. 

Saturday, Nov. 8 at Lancaster, Pa.

Semifinal 1 – No. 1 F&M vs. No. 4/5 Winner – 1:00 p.m.

Semifinal 2 – No. 2 Muhlenberg vs. No. 3 Dickinson – 4:00 p.m. 

Sunday, Nov. 9 at Lancaster, Pa.

Final – Semifinal Winners – 2:00 p.m. 

Field Hockey CC Championship Site 

F&M enters its fourth consecutive postseason and will look for its first conference championship since 2012. The Diplomats head into the tournament as the No. 2 seed with an eight-game winning streak and a 16-1, 9-1 CC mark. 

The NCAA First Round will begin on Wednesday, Nov. 12 with the CC Champion earning an automatic bid. The second round and quarterfinals are set for Nov. 15-16, with the semifinals and NCAA Championship slated for Nov. 22-23 in Lexington, Va. Volleyball CC Championship Site

Volleyball earned a spot in the CC Tournament for the seventh straight season and will seek its first championship since 2010. F&M enters the field as the No. 5 seed after wrapping up the regular season with a five-match winning streak and an 18-11, 6-4 CC overall record on the year. 

The NCAA First and Second Rounds are slated for Nov. 14-15, with the quarterfinals, semifinals and championship matches taking place from No. 21-23 in Newport News, Va. The tournament's field will be announced during the NCAA selection show on Monday, Nov. 10 at 11:00 a.m., which can be found here
