Ezekiel, Sanchez Earn All-CC Honors

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall placed two on the All-Centennial Conference (CC) Volleyball Team, announced on Tuesday by the league office. Junior Ellie Ezekiel took first-team honors, while senior Alyssa Sanchez received honorable mention.

Ezekiel (Chadds Ford, Pa. / Garnet Valley) took all-CC honors for the third straight year, finding her way onto the first team for the first time after receiving second-team honors her sophomore year and honorable mention recognition as a freshman. This season the junior outside hitter was fifth in the conference in total kills (355) and sixth in the CC for kills per set (3.41), and her 28 kills on Sept. 23 against Muhlenberg were tied for the most by a CC player in any match this season.

Sanchez (Bristow, Va. / Osbourn Park) earned all-conference recognition for the second time in her career after being named to the second team in 2013. This season, the Diplomat libero averaged 4.71 digs per set and 466 total digs, ranking second in the conference in both categories. For her career, the senior tallied 1,659 total digs, reaching second place in the all-time F&M record books.

The 2015 Diplomats entered the CC Tournament as the No. 5 seed, bowing out to McDaniel 3-1 in opening round action on Nov. 4. The tournament berth marks the eighth straight year that F&M has reached the CC Playoffs.
