Series History: Franklin & Marshall travels to Scranton on Wednesday for the 12th meeting between the two schools. The Royals own a 7-4 advantage in the all-time series, but have not defeated the Diplomats since 1989.  

On Friday F&M hosts local rival Lebanon Valley. After two years of Dutchmen victories, the Diplomats were able to secure the win last year to bring the series record to 17-8 in favor of F&M.

The Diplomats also host two more matches on Saturday, beginning at 11:00 a.m. when F&M takes on Penn St.-Altoona. The Diplomats have dominated the series, leading with a perfect 5-0 record since 2005.

F&M wraps up action at the F&M Quad at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, facing off with York. A tightly-contested series, the Diplomats have taken the last two meetings to extend their lead in the series to 25-22.

Most Recent Meetings: Scranton and F&M last met on Sept. 7, 2016, resulting in a 3-0 win for the Diplomats. Ellie Ezekiel tallied 13 kills as Mary Leneweaver logged 19 digs.

Franklin & Marshall traveled to Annville on Sept. 9 last season, rallying in four close sets to eventually take a 3-1 victory. Christine Yoo delivered an impressive nine service aces along with two Diplomats reaching double-digit kills.

Rowan and F&M squared off during the 2016 season, meeting at the LVC Quad Scramble. Yoo and Grace Polisano paced the offense with nine kills each to help the Diplomats solidify a 3-0 sweep.

F&M and Penn St.-Altoona met Sept. 10 last year, closing the two-day LVC Quad Scramble. Continuing the momentum from the Rowan game, the Diplomats were in full force with a 3-0 sweep of the Nittany Lions.

Last Week: The Diplomats opened the 2017 season on Friday with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Elizabethtown in the first game of the Crosstown Crossover. Polisano collected 20 kills and freshman libero Gabby Mavroidis tallied 27 digs to go along with four assists and one ace in the victory.

On Saturday, F&M hosted the last two games of the crossover. The Diplomats started the day by winning a clean 3-0 sweep against Lancaster Bible. F&M then had another five-set battle, this time against Messiah, that resulted in a Diplomats comeback victory 3-2.

Among the Leaders: Following the opening weekend of action, several Diplomats rank amongst the Centennial Conference (CC) leaders in various statistical categories.

Freshman setter Maggiore ranks third averaging 9.31 assists per set. Polisano also ranks as an offensive leader, placing third in kills per set (3.77) and fourth in overall kills (49).
