Franklin & Marshall wrapped up another strong performance during the 2017 season, finishing with an overall record of 16-12 and a 7-3 mark in Centennial Conference (CC) play. F&M's 10th straight CC Tournament appearance continued a streak that currently remains unmatched by any other program in the Conference.

The Diplomats started their 2017 campaign indomitable, sweeping their opening two home tournaments, including a tightly contested 3-2 victory over Elizabethtown in their first match on Sept. 1. A 3-0 victory over Lancaster Bible the following day gave F&M its first of seven match sweeps on the year. 

F&M went on a 4-0 run in CC play to start October, beginning with a 3-1 victory over McDaniel on Oct. 4 and ending with a 3-0 sweep at Washington on Oct. 14, to clinch a playoff berth. A 7-3 finish in CC play gave F&M the four-seed in the tournament and hosting rights in the first round. However, F&M's season was cut short with a 3-2 loss to McDaniel on Nov. 1.

Grace Maggiore '21 delivered a dominant rookie season, garnering All-Region Honorable Mention, as well as being named to the All-CC Second Team. The freshman setter led the team with 867 assists and 259 digs. Her 8.58 assists per set were good for fifth in the Conference. Maggiore also led the team with 42 service aces over the season.

Sophomore Grace Polisano '20 received her first-career postseason accolade after being named Honorable Mention to the All-CC Team. The outside hitter led the team with 256 kills while ranking third with 238 digs and 28 service aces.
