LANCASTER, PA - Centennial Conference Executive Director Steve Ulrich has announced the selection of Franklin & Marshall College libero Meghan Godorov (So., Orefield, PA/Parkland), middle blocker Elizabeth Earll (Jr., New Freedom, PA/Susquehannock) and outside hitter Maureen Lafferty (Sr., Collegeville, PA/Villa Maria) to the 2003 Centennial Conference Volleyball All-Conference Second Team as voted on by the conference's coaches.
The November 4 Centennial Conference Player of the Week, Godorov shattered the Centennial Conference single season dig record this year as she tallied 639 (6.66 per game) in 96 games to erase the previous record of 586 held by F&M's Heidi Goedicke '03 from the 2000 season.
Further, Godorov made history with her inclusion on the All-Conference team as she became the first libero ever named to the All-Centennial Conference team since the positions inception prior to the 2002 season.
By definition, a libero is a designated back-row player who cannot serve, attack or set inside the attack line and is submitted for defensive purposes.
For her career, she has 1,003 digs, as she is 110 digs away from the 10th place mark of Meredith Sandherr '95 in Franklin & Marshall College volleyball. Overall, Goedicke holds the career record in digs with 1,661, a mark Godorov could shatter as a junior next season.
At middle blocker, Earll ended the regular season ranked among the Centennial Conference leaders in kills (7th, 3.28) and service aces (8th, .56) per game (7th, 3.28) and hitting percentage (3rd, .327) as she has 289 kills, 18 assists, 49 service aces, 114 digs, 36 solo blocks, 18 block assists and 54 total blocks in 88 games entering the Centennial Conference playoffs.
An outside hitter, Lafferty ranks among the CC's best in kills per game (9th, 2.98), service aces (3rd, .63) and digs (5th, 4.49) per game as she was joined Earll as two of only four All-CC players also selected to the Centennial Conference All-Academic team.
On the year, Lafferty has 277 kills, 21 assists, 59 service aces, 418 digs and 14 blocks in 93 games.
Franklin & Marshall (15-12, 7-3 Centennial Conference) will return to action on Saturday November 8th when they travel to Gettysburg College to face Johns Hopkins University in the opening round of the Centennial Conference playoffs. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. with the championship game to follow 45 minutes after the completion of the last semifinal match.
