F&M Competes at Mid-East Regionals

NEWVILLE, Pa. – Julia Zielinski finished 36th to lead Franklin & Marshall at the 2015 NCAA Mid-East Regionals on Saturday. As a team the Diplomats finished 20th out of 50 teams with a total of 597 points. The team title went to Johns Hopkins with 33 points, while the individual title went to Johns Hopkins senior Sophia Meehan with a time of 21:46.2. 

Zielinski, a senior, covered the six-kilometer course in 23:10.7, averaging 6:13 miles on her way to finishing 36th out of 365 runners.

Following Zielinski was fellow senior Rachel Weiss, whose time of 24:18.7 was good for 103rd. Right behind Weiss was Grace Adams, claiming 108th with a time of 24:22.4.

Freshman Amelia Cadwell was next to cross the line for the Diplomats, coming in 143rd at 25:05.2. Fifth for F&M was Kathleen McCutcheon (26:31.2, 224th), followed by Meredith Malcolm (27:21.1, 264th) and Caroline Kearney (27:42.2, 282nd).
