LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall swimming coach Ben Delia announced the hiring of Andy Eaton as the program's assistant coach and aquatics director for the upcoming 2019-20 season.
"I'm excited to welcome Andy to our program here at F&M," said Delia. "His vast knowledge and club coaching experience set him apart in our search process, and I am eager to tap into that experience to help our swimmers."
Eaton arrives in Lancaster after spending the spring semester on Emory University's swimming staff, which saw its women's team win the 2019 NCAA Division III National Championship and the men's side claim the runner-up spot.
Before Emory, Eaton coached for Chattahoochee Gold at their Cumming, Ga. location from 2012-18 and was the head site rep for the last three years. He was responsible for coaching Senior and National groups and for running the location, which grew from 200 members to 300 members in his time as head coach. During his tenure, Eaton coached state champions, champions at Futures and Sectionals, and national top-10 times for various age groups.
A 1995 graduate of Kenyon College, Eaton was an accomplished swimmer with 24 All-America honors and two Academic All-America certificates to his name. He was a team captain his senior year and was a member of four NCAA National Championship teams during the program's record streak of 31-consecutive titles.
