LANCASTER, Pa. – Schedules for Franklin & Marshall's spring athletic teams have been announced and are available for viewing at GoDiplomats.com. Click on the links above to access each team's 2014 slate of contests.
The Diplomats kick off their 2014 season by participating in the Guilford College Tournament. Action kicks off against the host school on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 11:00 a.m. before wrapping up play against Case Western Reserve on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
Looking to defend its 2013 Centennial Conference (CC) Championship, F&M opens up its CC slate at home with a double header against McDaniel on Saturday, March 29, at 12:20 p.m. Conference championships begin Thursday, May 1, with the title game occurring on Sunday, May 4.
Men's and Women's Golf
The men's team opens its spring slate on Monday, March 24, competing in the York Invitational at the Outdoor Country Club. Action kicks off at 12:00 p.m. Day one of conference championships begin on Friday, April 25, and will be hosted by the Swarthmore at the Dupont Country.
The women's team is in the process of putting together its regular season slate. CC Championships are scheduled for April 26-27.
F&M opens its 2014 campaign on the road against Lynchburg, the nation's No. 11 team, on Feb. 22 at 1:00 p.m, while its first contest at Tylus Field is set for Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 4:00 p.m.
CC play opens on March 22, when the Diplomats travel to Muhlenberg for a 1:00 p.m. showdown. F&M closes out the regular season at home with a title game rematch against defending champion Dickinson at Tylus Field on Saturday, April 26, at 3:00 p.m. The first round of the conference playoffs takes place Wednesday, April 30, with the CC Championship set for Saturday, May 3.
The No. 5 women's lacrosse team starts off its season at home against Brockport State on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 1:00 p.m. The Diplomats open conference play on Saturday, Feb. 22, at home against Muhlenberg beginning at 1:00 p.m, while a CC Title Game rematch with preseason No. 6 Gettysburg is slated for Wednesday, April 23, at 7:00 p.m.
The opening round of the conference playoffs is scheduled for Wednesday, April 30, while the finals are set to take place on Sunday, May 4.
Men's and Women's Rowing
Saturday, March 22, marks the opening of the spring schedule for men's and women's rowing as the Diplomats host the F&M Invitational at Gifford Pinchot State Park in Lewisbury. The men's team will square off against St. John Fisher and the University of Mary Washington, while the women will take on both squads as well as Bryn Mawr.
This season's Mid-Atlantic Rowing Championships are set for Saturday, April 26, and will also take place at Gifford Pinchot State Park.
Softball starts off its 2014 season with a double header on the road against Randolph-Macon on Sunday, March 2, with the opening game set for 1:00 p.m. The Diplomats first game at Baker Campus Field occurs against Lancaster Bible on Thursday, March 20, at 3:00 p.m., while the CC opener is slated for Saturday, March 22, on the road against Washington at 1:00 p.m.
The conference tournament is set for Saturday, May 3, with the title game scheduled for Sunday.
Men's and Women's Tennis
Men's and women's tennis kicks off their spring slate on Saturday, March 1, with a contest on the road against Salisbury at 12:00 p.m. Both squads open CC play against Muhlenberg on Saturday, March 22, with the men's squad hosting the Mules at 12:00 p.m. and the women's team traveling to Allentown for a 1:00 p.m. start.
The opening round of the conference championships are set for Wednesday, April 30, while the title match is scheduled for Sunday, May 4.
Men's and Women's Track & Field
The men's and women's track & field team's open their outdoor campaigns by hosting the Little Three Meet on Saturday, March 22. Five regular season competitions follow for each squad before taking place in the CC Championships on May 3-4.
