LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's Jonathan Cole earned his second-straight Centennial Conference (CC) Pitcher of the Week award, announced by the league office on Monday. Cole garnered the distinction for the second time this season and the third time of his career.
Cole (Cherry Hill, N.J. / Bishop Eustace Prep.) struck out 14 Haverford batters in a 3-1 Diplomat victory on Saturday. The junior righty tossed eight frames and wasn't charged with an earned run as he scattered just two hits. Cole's 14 strikeouts was the highest-known total in the program's single-game history. It marked the most K's by a Diplomat pitcher since Ted Serro fanned 12 Endicott batters back in 2006.
F&M continues Centennial play on Tuesday when the Diplomats travel to face Ursinus at 3:30 p.m.
