LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's men's basketball team received the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award, while J.C. McGrath and Ignas Slyka earned spots on the 2018-19 NABC Honors Court.
The Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the 2018-19 season. The Diplomats garnered the distinction for the second straight year.
In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must be a junior or senior in class standing and produce a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2018-19 Academic Year. McGrath received the accolade for the second consecutive year, while Slyka landed on the list for the first time.
F&M finished the 2018-19 campaign with a 15-11 record and a 9-9 mark in Centennial Conference action.
