  • Gault and Lammers Named CC POTWs

    Franklin & Marshall seniors Kevin Gault and Kevin Lammers were named the Centennial Conference (CC) Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week announced on Sunday. The honor is the first for both this season and the third award for a member of the F&M team.
  • Fourth Quarter Surge Lifts Diplomats Past Ursinus

    Franklin & Marshall exploded for 28 points in the fourth quarter to break a 16-16 tie and defeated Ursinus 44-16 in Centennial Conference (CC) football action Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats improved to 5-4, 4-4 CC, while the Bears fell to 4-5, 3-5 CC.
  • Scholar-Athlete Profile: Ed Van Dolsen '80

    During the summer between his junior and senior years at Franklin & Marshall College, Ed Van Dolsen ’80 took a job at the Lancaster Stockyards. Much like what had happened on the football field during his first two years at F&M, he was instructed in the herding and hustling of bulls by head football coach Tom Gilburg.

    F&M does battle with one of its oldest rivals on Saturday, facing off against Ursinus for the 102nd time in school history. The Diplomats have largely dominated the all-time series, winning nearly two-thirds of the matchups (66-31-4). The series has tightened in recent years, with the last decade of play being split evenly, with both teams taking five games. 
  • Diplomats Fall in Final Seconds to Greyhounds

    Franklin & Marshall’s last-second field goal sailed wide right as time expired securing a 17-16 victory for Moravian in Centennial Conference (CC) football action. The Diplomats fall to 4-4, 3-4 CC, while the Greyhounds improved to 3-5, 3-4 CC.
  • F&M Looks to Bounce Back at Moravian - Week 8 Game Notes

    The Diplomats hold the upper hand against the Greyhounds, winning 23-of-31 meetings between the two sides. F&M has emerged victorious in six of the last eight matchups, including the last three. Moravian has proved to be a tough game on the road, as six of F&M’s eight losses to the Greyhounds have come in Bethlehem.
  • Football Team Donates 8,000 Diapers and 11,000 Wipes to WSM

    The Franklin & Marshall Football Team donated 8,000 diapers and 11,000 wipes to the Water Street Ministries Shelter that will provide children with diapers for the next three months at the shelter. Since its inception in 2012, The Little Dips Diaper Drive has collected more than 78,000 diapers for the children living at Water Street.

    Franklin & Marshall lost to Dickinson 17-10 in double overtime in Centennial Conference (CC) football action Saturday afternoon in Lancaster. The Diplomats fell to 4-3, 3-3 CC, while the Red Devils improved to 4-3, 3-3 CC.
  • Wagon Week !! - Week 7 Game Notes

    Franklin & Marshall faces Dickinson for the 111th time, the longest running rivalry in school history. The two sides have met every year since 1947, a streak of 73 years. The first meeting came in the Diplomats’ inaugural season competing at the collegiate level in 1889. F&M largely dominated the series from 1910 through 1987, dropping only 12 meetings in the eight-decade span. The Red Devils took control in 1988, winning 19 of the next 22 meetings. The Diplomats have had the upper hand as of late, winning the Conestoga Wagon in six of the last nine, including the last three meetings.
  • Football Set to Host 8th Annual Diaper Drive this Saturday

    The Franklin & Marshall Football Leadership Society will be holding the eighth annual Little Dips Diaper Drive this Saturday, Oct 26. F&M faces Dickinson at 1:00 p.m. with donations being accepted at the entrance of Shadek Stadium beginning at 12:30 p.m.

  • Diplomats Travel to Nationally Ranked Susquehanna - Week 4 Game Notes

    F&M touts a 14-3-2 record against Susquehanna, with the series history nearly evenly split between the turn of the century (1898-1915) and the 2010’s. The Diplomats were unbeaten in their first 11 games against the River Hawks, spanning over 110 years, outscoring the Selinsgrove, Pa.-based university by a 284-57 margin. The rivalry has tightened considerably in recent history, with F&M holding a 5-3 record in the past decade of play, including victories in five of the last six. The past seven games have all been decided by ten points or less, with an average margin of victory by either side being less than six points.

    One of F&M’s oldest rivals returns to Lancaster for a Centennial Conference tilt, looking for their first victory in over 15 years against the Diplomats. McDaniel (formerly Western Maryland) in first met the Diplomats in 1904, winning the initial contest 12-0. The next two battles in the 1900’s would be similar barnburners, with F&M taking 12-6 and 6-0 victories.

  • Diplomats Host Juniata in Home Opener - Week Two Game Notes

    F&M and Juniata met for the first time in 1924, with the Diplomats dominating in a 27-0 home victory. The two teams wouldn't meet again until 61 years later, with F&M again shutting out the Eagles 21-0. Juniata pulled out its only victory in 15 matchups in 1986, with a 21-11 victory in Huntingdon, Pa. Another 21-year break in the action would come to find these old foes in the same conference.
  • Diplomats Pick Up Opening Day Win over Dutchmen

    Franklin & Marshall converted three first-half interceptions into 21 points and earned its sixth-straight opening day win with a 35-20 victory over Lebanon Valley in non-conference football action Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats improved to 1-0, while the Dutchmen fall to 0-1.

    Franklin & Marshall starts its 132nd season of football on Saturday when the Diplomats travel to Lebanon Valley for the 2019 season opener. The Diplomats return 32 letter winners and 16 starters from last year's team that made the seventh postseason appearance in the last 10 years and earned the most wins across a two-year span in program history with 18. F&M ended its year with an 8-3 record and won its second-straight Centennial-MAC Bowl and the 2019 team has a chance to be the first team since 1937 to sweep the rivalry games against Dickinson and Gettysburg all four seasons
  • Diplomats Open Season at LVC - Week 1 Game Notes

    The John Troxell era enters season number 14 as the Diplomats prepare to embark on the 132nd campaign since F&M first hit the grid circuit in October of 1887. The Diplomats posted a winning record in 75 seasons and a losing record in 48 seasons. Eight seasons saw the Diplomats finish at .500. F&M went undefeated and untied in four seasons (1950, 1964, 1972, 1974), and was undefeated with one tie in 1945. The Diplomats suffered through five seasons without a win: 1887, 1904, 1926, 1962, and 2000. The 1926 season saw F&M post one tie.
  • 2019 F&M Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees Announced

    Franklin & Marshall College will induct seven individuals and two teams into its Athletic Hall of Fame on TRUEBLUE Weekend (Homecoming & Family Weekend). Patricia Borosky Asinski ’91, Jessica Kunkle ’05, Kelly Landman ’07, Sarah Meisenberg ’09, Ted Serro ’06, Steve Ulrich ’82, and Ed Van Dolsen ’80, along with the 1978 Men's Track & Field Relay Team and the 2009 Women's Lacrosse Team will be honored at an induction ceremony scheduled for Friday, October 25th.
  • Franklin & Marshall College Partners with Nike & BSN Sports

    Franklin & Marshall College today announced that it has entered into a campus-wide, multi-year partnership with NIKE through BSN SPORTS. The agreement, which commenced on July 1, 2019, is part of the BSN SPORTS Collegiate Select program which provides a true one-stop shop for all collegiate athletic, intramural, club and staff apparel and equipment.
