LANCASTER, PA - Fullback Rick Dunlap (So., Boothwyn, PA/Garnet Valley) has been named the 2004 Franklin & Marshall College Football Tom Gilburg Coaches Award recipient.
The team's second leading rusher with 235 net yards on 47 carries in 11 games, Dunlap caught 25 passes for 175 yards this season to finish with 410 yards of total offense.
For his career, he now has 333 rushing yards on 49 carries and 27 receptions for 195 yards for 528 yards of total offense.
Named in honor of Hall of Fame coach Tom Gilburg who retired in 2002, the award is presented to a player that embodies dedication, leadership and effort.
The 2004 Centennial Conference co-champions with Muhlenberg, McDaniel, Johns Hopkins and Dickinson, Franklin & Marshall (8-3, 4-2 Centennial Conference) finished with eight wins in a season for the first time since 1996 (9-2), won their first Centennial Conference title since 1995 (7-3) and advanced to the postseason for the first time since 1996 as the Diplomats won the 2004 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Southwest Bowl.
