F&M Football Staff to Fight Pediatric Cancer

May 31, 2007

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall Head Football Coach, John Troxell, and three of his assistant coaches, Craig Sutyak, R.J. Ryan, and Scott Brisson, will participate in the fourth annual Lauren's First and Goal Football Camp on Sunday, June 3.

Proceeds from the camp benefit Lauren's First and Goal Foundation, a 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization that supports pediatric brain tumor research and pediatric cancer services. In its first three years, the camp has raised more than $180,000, including $92,000 last summer.

The camp and foundation are named after Lauren Loose, the daughter of Lafayette defensive coordinator John Loose. Lauren is a ten-year old brain tumor survivor and has been living with a diagnosis of multiple brain tumors, Neurofibromatosis and Evan's Syndrome since nine months of age.

Troxell and his wife Pamela have been on the board of directors for the camp for three years. Sutyak and Ryan have been members of the coaching staff for each of the last two camps. Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. hosts the event that will feature more than 200 college coaches from over 100 institutions spanning all levels of NCAA competition.

Phil Simms, the MVP of Super Bowl XXI and the lead color commentator for the NFL on CBS, will be the guest speaker.
