LANCASTER, PA -- Franklin & Marshall College placekicker/punter Dan Eggertsson (Sr., Royal Palm, FL/Suncoast) has been named to the September 26 Centennial Conference Special Teams Honor Roll for his performance in a 31-14 loss at Carnegie Mellon University on September 25.
Against the Tartans, he averaged 43.2 yards per punt off five punts for 216 yards with a long punt of 52 yards and two punts inside the Carnegie Mellon 20-yard line. In addition, he hit two extra points as he is 17-for-17 on PATs this year and has a 24-for-24 PAT streak dating back to missing a PAT in overtime in a 20-14 win over Dickinson on October 25, 2003 in Lancaster.
In the latest Centennial Conference statistics, Eggertsson leads the Conference in punting with a 41.9 yard average (20 punts for 838 yards) and point after efficiency (17-for-17). Further, he ranks fifth in field goals (two), third in field goal percentage (two-for-three, 66.7 percent) and ninth in scoring with 5.8 points per game as Eggertsson has 23 points in four games as the Diplomats have opened the season 3-1 for the first time since 2002.

For his career, Eggertsson has punted 113 times for 4,260 yards, an average of 37.70 yards per punt, as he moved ahead of Andy Gilburg '00 (37.2) and into second place in career punting average in the history of Franklin & Marshall College behind Jon Bushey '97 (38.4).
Franklin & Marshall (3-1, 0-0 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on October 2 at Muhlenberg College in both institutions Centennial Conference season-opener. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
