LANCASTER, Pa. - The Swarthmore men's soccer team scored a goal in the first half and two more in the second to defeat Franklin & Marshall 3-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Saturday.
Dylan Langley, Micah Rose and Ladule Lako Lo Sarah each netted a goal for the Garnet (10-2-1, 5-1 CC) to remain in second place in the conference with their fifth consecutive win while snapping the Diplomats (7-5-2, 2-2-2 CC) three-game winning streak.
Zach Zamek collected five saves in the net for F&M.
Langley got Swarthmore on the board early in the first half with a goal just 4:19 into the game. Yoi Tibbets chipped the ball over the defense and Langley came from the right side to give a one-touch shot to the left-side netting for a 1-0 lead.
The Garnet got their second goal in the 53rd minute when Rose scored off a direct kick from 25 yards out. Lako Lo Sarah made it 3-0 with a sliding shot off a cross from the right side by Gage Newman with 22:03 left in the game.
Swarthmore held the Diplomats to four shots and scoreless to register its sixth shutout of the season.
F&M returns to action on Saturday at Johns Hopkins. Game time is 1 p.m.
