LANCASTER, Pa. – Three members of the Franklin & Marshall men’s soccer team were named to the All-Centennial Conference Team when it was announced Monday. One Diplomat was named to the conference’s First Team and a pair landed on the Second Team. The team is voted on by the conference’s coaches.
Eric Corsini (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) earned First Team All-Centennial Honors for the second in year row. Corsini, a senior co-captain, was one of three defenders selected to the first team. He started in every game this season, scoring two goals. Corsini anchored a defense that posted five shutouts and a .95 goals-against average, only allowing 16 goals.
Matt Krantz (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Harriton) and Matt Melino (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) were named to conference’s Second Team. Krantz received the same honor last year as a sophomore. He scored three goals, including the game-winner versus Gwynedd-Mercy, and dished out three assists this season. Melino picks up his first ever post-season honor. The senior co-captain led the team in goals (4) and assists (6). Melino started in all 18 games this season and netted the game-winners against Frostburg State and McDaniel.
F&M ended the 2009 season with a 9-6-3 overall record and a 5-2-2 mark in the conference.
