Diplomats Fall to Raptors

CAMDEN, N.J. – C.J. Finley's goal with just under two minutes remaining in the game gave Rutgers-Camden a 1-0 victory over Franklin & Marshall Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats fall to 1-2 while the Raptors improved to 2-3.

The game appeared headed for overtime until Finley picked up a loose ball 25 yards out with time winding down. He looped a shot over Diplomats senior goalie Zack Zamek, and barely under the crossbar to score the winning goal with 1:43 remaining in regulation.

Rutgers-Camden held a 20-12 advantage in shots and a 12-1 margin in corner kicks on the day.  Both goalies – Zamek and Raptor junior Tim VanLiew made seven saves.

F&M returns to action tomorrow in the second round of the Cialella Soccer Classic when the Diplomats play New Jersey City at 2:00 p.m.
