KANSAS CITY, Kan. –Franklin & Marshall's Mike Irving has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Scholar All-East Region team. The senior midfielder earned honorable mention honors, and is one of just three Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer players to earn the accolade.
Irving was a standout both in the classroom and on the field throughout his four years as a Diplomat. He has maintained a 3.76 G.P.A. while majoring in mathematics, and nabbed Second Team All-CC recognition as a junior and senior.
A four-year starter, Irving earned the starting nod in each of the 70 games he played throughout his career, primarily from the center midfield position. With three goals and two assists this past fall, he compiled career totals of eight goals and assists, with five of his scores standing as game-winners.
Irving was an instrumental leader in the middle of the pitch for F&M, leading the Diplomats to four straight CC playoff appearances, and a 40-21-9 overall mark of the past four seasons, including a 12-6 campaign in 2012.
