Britton Named CC Defensive Player of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Trevor Britton was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Player of the Week for men's soccer, announced Tuesday. The Diplomats' junior goalkeeper was in net for both of the team's shutout victories, blanking No. 2 Rutgers-Camden (1-0) on Friday and No. 11 York (1-0) on Saturday.

F&M captured the trophy at the 2014 Holiday Inn Scrapyard Classic and for his effort in net, Britton was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Britton (2-0) didn't allow a goal in 180 minutes of action, picking up four saves, including three stops against York on Saturday. His shutout of Rutgers-Camden on Friday was the first of his career.

The Diplomats opened the season at 2-0 after knocking off a pair of ranked teams in their opening weekend, including a victory over the highest-ranked opponent in the Dan Wagner era with a shutout of No. 2 Rutgers-Camden on Friday.
