LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Jared Bomba was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Men's Soccer Co-Offensive Player of the Week, for the week ending on Sept. 21. The honor is the second of the week for Bomba after being earning the same accolade for the Centennial Conference (CC) on Monday.
The senior forward notched one goal and two assists in a 1-0-1 week for F&M. With the score tied at 0-0 in the 79th minute against Swarthmore on Saturday, Bomba collected the ball from a Chris Scott header and sent a shot into the back of the net to give F&M the late advantage. He went on to assist Janse Schermerhorn's insurance tally in the 84th minute for the 2-0 final.
Bomba's game-winner against the Garnet was the sixth of his career, moving him into a tie for third on the program's all-time list. The record belongs to Ben Beaver '13, who notched 20 in his storied career.
The Diplomats took down Stevenson by a 3-1 score on Tuesday evening and return to action on Saturday when F&M hosts Washington at 6:00 p.m.
